Samuel Schechter
Sam is a researcher and educator building a consulting practice bridging the gap between academic research, data analysis, and nonprofit support. He specializes in supporting strategic decision-making, grantmaking, and program evaluation by translating complex information into accessible and practical insights for nonprofit executives.
Sam brings robust experience across education—K-12 and higher ed—and public health. He honed his consulting skills by helping Sandy Hook Promise articulate the impact of their education and mental health youth programming, advising on research, evaluation strategy, data analysis, and policy advocacy across multiple long-term projects.
He holds a PhD in philosophy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a BA from Cornell University. He currently serves as Research and Grants Manager at Mercy University, where he supports research grant discovery, research ethics and compliance, and faculty development.
